Collection of Golden Sayings - The Birth of Jesus Christ (From Spiritual Thought on December 22, 2024)

To celebrate Advent at Christmas is to learn to wait. Not everyone can wait. Those who learn to wait, while feeling anxious about their own way of life, see a great vision of the world to come and patiently expect its fulfillment. Only those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to the great one who is to come, can celebrate Advent. For such people, it is enough to wait in humble fear until the Holy One Himself, God in the manger, comes down to us. God is coming. The Lord Jesus is coming. Christmas is coming. Christians rejoice. Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The advent season is a season of waiting, but our whole life is an advent season, that is, a season of waiting for the last advent, for the time when there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The Truth is, Christmas is not coming. It has come. The Word already has been made flesh. He already has lived, bled, died, and risen again for us. Now all that remains is to receive Him. For Jesus Christ Himself is the Meaning of Christmas. Sinclair Ferguson

A thousand times in history a baby has become a king. But only once has a King become a baby.

The shadow of the cross looms over the manger. If you understand that, you understand Christmas. John MacArthur

Believe like Mary, trust like Joseph, hope like the shepherds, seek like the wise men, worship like the angels, love like Jesus.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
